Theodore Avril à Paris, No. 44720, circa 1765.Very fine and rare, Brazilian rosewood walking stick, the 22K varicoloured gold pommel with built-in watch. Double-body, with three-coloured gold trophies garlands and ribbon knots chased over a hatched ground. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes ring. Later gold “sun” hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with square baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with garnet end-stone.Signed on the dial and back plate.Diam. 41 mm.
