Attributable to Le Phare (Barbezat-Baillot), Le Locle, Swiss, circa 1915. Fine 18K gold, hunting cased, moon phase astronomical, keyless minute repeating watch with chronograph and triple calendar. Four-body, “bassine”, engine-turned. Hinged gold cuvette decorated with medals awarded in different exhibitions. White enamel with bold Breguet numerals, outer minute and chronograph ring, sunk subsidiary seconds with moon phase aperture, small dial for days of the month, apertures for days of the week and months. Blued steel “spade” hands. 19’’’, gilt brass, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with fly regulatornd slide in the band. Chronograph with visible work, push piece in the band.Diam. 56 mm. Notes The different features of the movement, such as the fly regulator on the repeating train, and the medals reproduced on the cuvette, enable one to think that this watch was produced by Barbezat Baillot in Le Locle, at that time the most important maker of repeating watches of this type, which were commercialised under several trademarks such as Dixi and Le Phare for the present watch.
