Two-body, polished and brushed, octagonal bezel with 8 nuts screwed onto the case back screws. anthracite, “Clous de Paris” decorated with tritium-coated applied steel indexes, aperture for the date. “Bâton” tritium-coated steel hands. Cal. 2121, rhodium plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, 36 jewels, lever escapement, Giromax balance adjusted for heat, cold isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, 21K gold rotor.Dial, case and movement signed.Dim. 39 x 48 mm. Notes This watch is part of the very first series of Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta and produced in 1972 by Audemars Piguet. This series is easily recognizable by the AP logo which is placed at 6 o’clock, while on later series it is placed at noon.
