Double body, Directoire, the bezels set with a double row of split pearls, the blue flinqué back panel with a very fine split pearl inlaid rosette. White enamel with Arabic numerals. Gold arrow hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate, flat calibre with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, the fusee and barrel passing through the back plate and secured by a large half-moon plaque, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, the gilt brass continental cock piercd and engraved with the letters: M.A.T.T.H.E.Y with polished steel end-piece.Signed on the balance cock.Diam. 57 mm. Notes According to Osvaldo Patrizzi’s Dictionnaire des Horlogers Genevois, the most probable maker of this watch was Matthey David, specialised in the production of repeating watches on bells and slim watches with fusee and chain.
