Late 20th century. Monumental gilt metal and porcelain centerpiece bowl in a French style with ornate acanthus leaf tip decoration throughout, particularly on curved handles. Gilt metal banding around rim with vertical reeded texture with leaf tip ornamentation at top of light grey porcelain rounded vessel with crackled patina raised on a circular foot with laurel wreath accent below trailing bell flowers supported on a square base with floral motif and incurvate corners. Marked with impressed on underside. Approximate height 20.5", width (across handles) 27", diameter of top of bowl 16.75".
