G. Gammo A Paris, circa 1650.A very fine and small silver pair cased watch with piquet decoration. Outer: silver frame entirely covered in dark leather with elaborate graduated pin work floral motifs. Inner: plain polished silver with winding shutter, split bezel and loose-ring pendant. Hinged gilt dial plate located by four lugs, the engraved border and applied plain silver dial with Roman hour numerals and half-hour marks. Single engraved and pierced double ended gilt hand. Gilt full plate with turned vase pillars, fusee with gut, three wheel train with verge escapement, plain tworm steel balancewithout spring, oval pattern pierced and florallyengraved balance cock secured by a screw, with matching ratchet wheel set up cock, blued-steel wheel and click spring.Signed on the back plate.Dims. 41mm. diam.
