Airain, 'Type 20', made for French military helicopter pilots, circa 1955. Fine water-resistant stainless steel wristwatch with "retour en vol" round button chronograph and register. three-body, polished, screw-case back, revolving and graduated reeded bezel, lapidated lugs. black with radium-coated Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds and 30 minutes register dials. "Bâton" radium-coated hands. Notes Airain, a subsidiary of Dodane (official supplier of the French Air Force), was the exclusive official supplier of the French Army, and therefore of the helicopter divisions.
