Production started in the 1960's.Fine tonneau shaped, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round buttonchronograph, registers and tachometer. Accompanied by a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. three-body, polished and brushed, screwed case back and crown. Notes Ref. 6238This reference, called by collectors the 'Pre-Daytona', was produced in stainless steel and in 14 and 18K gold. It waspublished for the first time in the Rolex catalogue for the Italian Market in 1964 and remained until 1967.
