Howard Watch Co, No. 1288360, by Keystone, case No. 7097, circa 1915.Very fine and probably unique, platinum, keyless, watch. three-piece, back centered with applied, platinum monogram over vermicelli-type engraving, matte frame, reeded and engraved bezels, sapphire-set winding crown. sterling silver, two-tone, snap-on, stylized Arabic numerals on matte chapter, outer minute dot divisions on polished ring, matte center divided from the hour chapter by an engraved, polished ring, subsidiary seconds on polished ground, purpled steel "cathedral" hands. 10 size, series 8, nickel, "fausses côtes" decoration, straigt line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with 14K gold screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, 23 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions, cold, heat and isochronism, 14K gold cap jewel plates, nickel train, spring-loaded, micrometric regulator.Signed on the dial and movement.Diam. 46 mm. Notes Platinum American watches are very rare. The only known watch to be cased in platinum is Hamilton's 12 size "Masterpiece". The present watch is most likely a prototype which was never produced in a series.
