A heavy wooden sculpture carved in the round depicting the aging process of an elephant's head, at frontal view with ears stretched to sides and downstretched trunk serving as support for head, the upwardly curving highly textured trunk coming back up through a pool of water to expose a hooked end, the left side of the elephant's visage being aged and highly weathered, the ear resembling driftwood, the eye missing, and the tusk broken and blackened, overall mounted to an ovular plinth to be read as a body of water. Signed to the back Cain, for Rick Cain (American, 20th/21st C). Overall approximately 18.25" x 27" x 11".
