Attributable to Bruguier, enamel attri-buted to Berguer & Fils, case in the style of Jean Georges Reymond, Geneva, circa 1865. Very fine 18K gold and enamel singing bird box. Rectangular, the top with dark blue translucent enamel in the center over elaborate engine-turning and black latticework done in the manner of Reymond, the border in azure enamel with white flowers and gold leaves, the side panels and the back en suite, the oval bird cover finely painted on enamel with a view of the Mont Blanc as seen from Bellevue across the lake of Geneva with sailboats and one power steam boat. Notes A very interesting box, most likely taken from Rochat stock and finished by Bruguier. A singing bird box with a strikingly similar movement marked with three tulips and numbered 391, with the same type of mounting brackets, is in the collection of the Musee international d'horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Another one, with the same construction, and the same enamel landscape on the bird cover by Berguer & Fils was used by Patek Philippe to house their movement No. 28393.
