Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 295760, case No. 295760, made and sold to New York in 1893.Very fine and unusual 18K gold keyless pocket watch, accompanied by a certification letter from the company. Four-body, "bassine", polished with engraved initials in the back, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, stylized Arabic numerals, outer minute ring with five-minute red Arabic figures, double sunk, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "spade" hands. Notes The watch with unusual hour numerals and exceptionally high balance rim used in watches with chronometer escapement must have been made on special order of a discriminating client. The regulator was invented by Ernest Jacques Roux and Louis Uriel Fatio and patented on January 8, 1884.
