Bond St. London, circa 1920.Very fine and rare tortoiseshell, gold, white agate, jade, lapis lazuli and gilt silver, diamond-set with eight day-going Art Deco chinoiserie desk clock. Rectangular, curved agate base, tortoiseshell side panels, back with hinged opening to view the movement and for winding and setting, top with gold stripe centered by a diamond-set lapis lazuli and platinum band, front with a rectangular aperture for the dial surrounded by inlaid gold stylized Chinese numerals. Rectangular curved jade set with two diamonds. Diamond-set hands. Notes LaclocheManufacturer and retailer of Art Deco jewelry. Established in Madrid in 1875 and opened a branch in Paris in 1898. They were known for high fashion jewelry encrusted with precious gems.
