Continental School, late 19th/ early 20th century. "Still Life with Violin", oil on canvas, signed lower right "A. Solome". Painting depicts a still life upon red drape with a violin resting in its opened case with bow to the front if it, sheets of music below the neck of the instrument, and a kerchief draped over the bulbous edge of the case at right, the background of the scene being a solid plane of mottled green. Framed approximately 33" x 45", unframed approximately 23.5" x 35.5".
