Ge. Achard Père & Fils, Genève, circa 1800.Very fine and very rare 18K gold dou-ble-train Grande et Petite Sonnerie clockwatch with quarter repeating and automaton Jacks. Eccentric white enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel "spade" hands with gold tips. Dark blue enamel dial plate with ramolayé laurel branches, above the dial small varicolored Cupid Jacks striking and repeating hours and quarters on two bells. Notes Georges AchardSon of François, born in Aouste (Dauphiné, France).A Master watchmaker, he was in partnership with his brother Jean-François until 1796, making complicated enameled watches. The two brothers separated, and Georges created a company called Achard & Cie while he was in partnership with Antoine Luya. Soon afterwards, the company's name became G. Achard et Fils.
