Produced circa 1890.Very fine, 18K gold pocket watch with eccentric dial and split-seconds chronograph. four-body, "Bassine et filets", polished, gold hinged cuvette. white enamel with small dial at the top, chronograph ring with red Arabic numerals, auxiliary sunk seconds dial. "Spade" blued steel hands. Notes This very elegant watch features a rare split second mechanism, usually made for the American market where it was retailed by Tiffany, Spaulding and Caldwell. It should be noted that some movements were also sold by Patek Philippe. There is controversy as to whether the movements were made by Tiffany, Patek Philippe or another unidentified ebauche maker.
