Four-body, "bassine" with scalloped edge, by Roy, No. 75851, back lavishly decorated with two horses of applied yellow-brown and white gold drinking water from diamond-set trough, applied green and yellow floral motives on the edge, vermicelli borders and band, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunk sub-seconds. Blued steel, "Breguet" hands. 16 size, nickel, 3/4 split plate, damascened, 15 jewels, adjusted, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensa-tion balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 53 mm. Notes This lavishly decorated watch in almost mint-condition is the American equivalent to a European object of vertu such as an elaborately decorated snuff box.
