E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., No. 226410, Series IV, circa 1876.Magnificent, almost mint-condition, 18K gold, hunting-cased, keyless pocket watch. Four-body, "knife-edge" with scalloped edge, by Western, No. 32600, engine turned in an unusual way, back centered with a country house on a lake, mountains in the background, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute track with inner five-minute Arabic markers, sunk sub-seconds. Blued steel "Crescent" hands. Notes This is the only case of this type known to us. It is most unusual on account of its decoration and particularly construction in which the covers meet the band at the same angle, creating the impression of a singular piece.
