Timekeeper with 11 ComplicationsThe Royal Astronomer, Swiss, circa 1900, made for the Indian market. Very fine 18K gold, keyless, astronomical, double-face, 8 time zone watch with triple calendar, phases and age of the moon. Three-body, "bassine et filets", polished, dials on both sides. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, four subsidiary dials for days of the week, date, months concentric with seconds, aperture for phases and age of the moon, on the reverse white enamel dial with seven subsidiary dials showing the time in New York, St. Petersburg, Calcutta, Melbourne, Vienna, Berlin and Paris, marked Patent No. 6585. Blued-steel "spade" hands. Notes The watch employs Swiss patent No. 6585 for a "Montre Perfectionnée, système Agricol Dubois" registered on December 5, 1893, by Agricol Dubois of La Chaux de Fonds.
