Brosse, Bordeaux, circa 1825.Very interesting and rare gilt brass watch with special escapement and unusual caliber and dial. 47 mm, large standing barrel with female winding square mounted to a steel disc inserted into the front plate, train set ithe right part under blued steel single plate with brass bushings, symmetrical mock plate to the left, lateral lever escapement - a cross between cylinder and rack lever, in which the cylinder is fitted with a lever terminated with a rack meshing with a half-pinion forming the balance staff, two banking pins. Cutting the leaves of the staff pinion only on one third of its periphery provides overbanking protection, the uncut part working like a safety roller table. Plain three-arm gilt jeweled blance with blued steel flat balance spring.Signed on the dial.Diam. 51 mm.b.
