Unsigned, Geneva circa 1820. Fine 18K gold and enamel watch with concealed dial, designed as a cockle-shell. Two-body, "fermée" type, shell-shaped, spring-loaded front cover revealing the dial, both sides similarly decorated with radial sections of green enamel leaf pattern on a black enamel ground alternating with gold flinqué-decorated sectors, the top with repeated patterns of white, blue and black enamel, triple chain suspension. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions. Gold "spearhead" hands. 21 mm, hinged, gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, vege escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved with star-shaped endpiece and ruby endstone.Dim. 30 x 30 mm.
