Robert & Peter Higgs, London, 7 Sweeting's Alley, No. 3145, circa 1770.Fine and rare gilt silver pair-cased quarter-repeating watch striking on a bell or à tact with alarm. 37,7 mm, gilt full plate with turned column pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel balance with flat balance-spring, single-footed cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and with a mask, diamond endstone, alarm driven by a fixed barrel, repeating on bell by depressing the pendant, alarm striking on the same bell.Signed on the dial, movement and dust cap, case stamped T.C.Diam. 58 mm.
