Czapek & Cie à Genève et a Paris, Place Vendôme 23, No. 3579, circa 1860. Fine 18K gold, hunting-cased quarter-repeating watch. Four-body, “bassine et filets”, engine-turned, reeded band, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, secured by two small screws. Blued steel Breguet hands. 40 mm. (18’’’), frosted gilt, 14 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with flat balance spring, repeating on gongs through activating slide in the band. Signed on the cuvette and punched with Czapek’s trademark on the movement under the dial. Diam. 45 mm.
