Very fine and rare Art Deco silver and gold 8 day going manual calendar desk clock. 2-sided, made up of three revolving rings, outermost with months, knobs on the back, the middle one with date, and innermost stationary with days of the week, applied gold Roman numerals outside the bezel, back with silver hinged easel. Silver, matte, applied gold Roman numerals on the case, minute track, gold elaborate hands. Notes A rare early Cartier clock with patented case and calendar design. At the time Cartier was experimenting with different types of clock calendars, another unusual example from the period in illustrated in "Cartier" by Hans Nadelhoffer, Paris, 1984, plate 6.
