Audemars Piguet, Geneva, No. 5911, retailed by Goodrich & Potter, Chicago, circa 1889.Very fine 18K gold keyless "EXTRA" adjusted minute-repeating watch. Four-body, "bassine", polished, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute track with five-minute red Arabic markers, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "spade" hands. Notes A watch with the same caliber (No. 6062) is illustrated in "Audemars Piguet" by Gisbert L. Brunner, Christian Pfeiffer-Belli, and Martin K. Wehrli, München, 1993, p. 110.We do not know who Goodrich & Potter were, however we know that in 1870 the famous Albert H. Potter and his brother William opened a company, Potter Brothers, which William continued for a number of years. It is conceivable that after closing Potter Brothers, William became associated with Goodrich.
