Frères Esquivillon & Dechoudens, Genève, No. 81729, circa 1800.Exceptionally fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel pearl-set musical vase fitted with a watch with diamond-set gold thimble, gold needle holder and compartment for threads. In predominately translucent Imperial blue enamel over engine turning painted with garlands of flowers, gold and enamel leaves streaming from the bottom, hinged top revealing the watch when opened, separated by string of pearls with matching translucent Imperial blue enamel over engine turning, acorn finial on champlevé enamel rosette, square base decorated en suite with inverted funnel neck of alternating black enamel and gold circles. Gold, champlevé radial Roman numerals, engine turnedcenter, winding aperture. Blued steel Breguet hands. Notes Esquivillon & DechoudensMaîtres horlogers of the 18th century. Gédéon -François Esquivillon was associated with his brother Joseph and Jaques Dechoudens in 1774. They are known to have signed "Es. et Dech."
