Patek, Philippe & Cie. , Genève, No. 112085, case No. 228975, made for Tiffany & Co., circa 1900.Very fine and rare 18K gold keyless double-train trip minute-repeating watch in Tiffany leather fitted box. Four-body, "bassine", polished, gold hinged cuvette. Silver, matte, champlevé Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary sunk seconds, Blued steel Breguet hands. Notes Patek Philippe started making double-train trip repeaters around 1900 and continued their production, in very limited quantities, over the next 25 years. There are fewer than thirty of them known. The present watch comes from a series of watches, mostly repeaters, made for Tiffany & Co. Of these only two, including this one, are known to be trip repeaters. All others are slide-operated.
