Patek Philippe & Cie. , Genève,No. 111962, case No. 226356, made in 1901, sold on July 30, 1901.Very fine and rare 18K gold keyless double-train trip minute-repeating watch, accompanied by Extract from the Archives. Four-body, "bassine", polished, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute ring with five-minute red Arabic markers, subsidiary sunk seconds. Gold "Louis XV" hands. Notes Patek Philippe started making double-train trip repeaters around 1900 and continued making them, in very limited quantities, over the next 25 years. There are fewer than thirty of them known. Most of them are based on 17''' or 18''' movement. Only three, including this one, are known based on 19''' movement, and two on 20 and 22''' which were made especially for J. W. Packard.
