Pennsylvania painted pine trinket box, dated 1856 , the lift lid with red and yellow pinwheels and the inscription "Presented to me by A. R. Taylor, September 27, 1856" on reverse "C.A___", over a face with 2 red, yellow and green philflots flanked by sides with red and yellow 5 point stars, all on a brown ground with red borders, 3 3/4" h., 9 1/2" w. Provenance: Descended in the family of William Poulson, Claymont, DE.
