The Urn Unsigned, Geneva, No. 3221, circa 1810. Fine and amusing 18K gold and enamel concealed dial form watch designed as an urn. Two-body, "fermée" type, the spring-loaded front revealing the dial, both covers identically decorated withdark blue translucent enamel over engine-turning, flanked by opaque azure panels, the bottom with a black champlevé enamel rosette. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute dot divisions. Blued-steel "spearhead" hands. 19.8 mm. ø, hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Dim. 40 x 28 mm.Published in the Sandberg book, pages 454-455.
