Montre Geographique Callier, Horloger de l'Observatoire, Fournisseur de la Marine de l'Etat, Paris, dated 1887. Very fine and rare 18K gold, keyless, double-face 24-hour World Time watch. Four-body, massive, "bassine", polished. Notes A fine watch made by Callier, the successor of Winnerl and one of the best French chronometer makers of the second part of the 19th century. The watch shows longitude, latitude drawn on the map, and the time at any place on the planet as inscribed on the dial "Donnant les longitudes, les latitudes et heures de tous les points de la terre".
