Spring. Blossoms Piguet & Meylan, Geneva, No. 8458, circa 1825, made for the Chinese market. Very fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel, pearl-set, quarter-repeating watch with independent dead center seconds. Four-body, basket-shaped, enameled band, back with a finely painted spray of spring flowers on a dark blue guilloché enamel ground, bezels, pendant and bow set with half pearls, gold hinged cuvette finely decorated with champlevé enamel. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, Arabic quarters, center seconds. Blued steel ”diamond” hands.
