Double-body, “Louis XV”, the rose cut diamond-set bezel engraved with rocaille decoration, the back with a chased and engraved scene depicting Cupid and Venus making offerings at the altar of love within a diamond-set frame surmounted by a corresponding bow within a florally-chased surround. White enamel with radial Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, eccentric winding hole. Gold “Louis XV” hands. 30 mm, hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Gilt brass continental cock with ruby endstone, hammers striking on a bell activated by plunge.Signed on the back plate.Diam. 40 mm.
