2,990 CHF
Swiss, circa 1890. Fine 18K gold, keyless double-face hunting cased watch with date and days of the week. Five-body, "bassine et filets", engine-turned. Front: White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers, subsidiary sunk seconds. Gold "spade" hands. Back: White enamel outer ring with outermost Arabic 31-day track and inner days-of-the-week track. Blued steel "spade" hands. Notes This watch has a "mystery" opening feature with only one pushbutton and a special gravity device that allows only the top cover to be opened. Thus, when the watch is flipped over, the cover that had remained closed no matter how much the pushbutton was depressed, suddenly, and mysteriously, opens.
