Dent, Maker to the Queen, 28, Cockspur Street & 4 Royal Exchange, London, No 12426, case hallmarked 1881 and 1910. Very fine 18K gold, half hunting-cased minute-repeating keyless watch. four-body, "bassine et filets", polished back, later front with glazed aperture and blue enamel Roman chapter ring, milled grove in the band for the repeat slide, gold hinged cuvette. white enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary sunk seconds at IX. Blued steel "spade" hands. Notes It would appear that at some point after 1910 the owner of this watch had it converted to half hunting-case, which was the preferred case style in England during the first quarter of the 20th century..
