After the Hunt. Charles DU TERTRE, A Paris, No. 806, hallmarked 1776. Fine and very thin, 20K gold and painted on enamel, diamond-set pocket watch. Two-body, by master casemaker Pierre-Louis Foulle, "Louis XVI", back painted on enamel and geometrically engraved, depicting a hunter offering trophies to a lady, bezels decorated with enamel flower wreath, diamond-set pendant. Notes Nicolas-Charles Dutertre (1715 - 1793).Came from a well-established Parisian clockmaking family. His father was an eminent watch and clockmaker who in 1724 presented an equation watch to the Academy, and four years later a double pendulum clock. Nicolas-Charles received his training from his father and by 1739 was received into the Guild. He became a very well-known and prolific watchmaker. Among his clients were M.
