Flower Basket. Jean Fol A Paris, (Geneva), circa 1760. Very fine 20K gold and enamel diamond-set, à toc and à tact, quarter-repeating watch. Two-body, by master casemaker Joseph Quentin, "Louis XV", back finely painted on enamel, depicting a flower vase, bezels with enamel vignettes painted with flowers, diamond-set thumb piece. Notes A good repeater based on Julien LeRoy's inventions, including an adjustable potence for the escape wheel, a steel end-piece for the balance pivots to retain oil, dumb repeating and the so-called "bate levée", an arrangement which improved the housing for the repeating works. The casemaker also worked for Julien Le Roy.
