The Scallop Shell. P. Plantier fils, fournisseur de S.M. le Roi, Lisbonne, probably Geneva, circa 1850. Fine and unusual 18K gold and enamel pearl-set form watch with concealed dial, designed as a scallop shell. Five-body, with graduated pearls and translucent imperial blue enamel on the engraved shell ribs, oval suspension ring, each cover spring-loaded, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands.
