Mobilis, by Courvoisier Frères, La Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 102761, Brevet No. 30754, circa 1906. Unusual nickel keyless watch with one-minute tourbillon regulator. Three-body, demi-bassine, polished. Eccentric, matte gilt with Arabic numerals, engine-turned and silvered reserve, the revolving tourbillon carriage visible in an aperture. Notes A similar watch is described and illustrated in R. Meis, "Le Tourbillon", page 310. At the beginning of the 20th century, Paul Loichot invented and patented Swiss patent No. 30754 of 1905 an interesting tourbillon design. He inverted the movement, allowing the carriage to be seen through the dial and placed the escapement in a straight line with lever having an opening for the carriage arbor.The "Mobilis" trade name was registered by Courvoisier Frères on July 4, 1905, patent No. 19062.
