Four-body, case back set with an agate cameo carved with a putto, gold scrolling pierced frame, pearl-set bezels, hinged gold cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost gold Arabic five minutes. Gold "Louis XV" hands. 24 mm, frosted gilt bar caliber, cylinder escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring.Dial and movement signed.Diam. 30 mm. Notes Jean Samuel Rossel. Son-in law of Jean François Bautte, he formed a partnership called "Jean François Bautte & Cie." to perpetuate the company. By 1883, Jean Samuel's son Jacques had become the sole owner of the company, then called "J. Rossel Fils". After his death in 1887,he was succeeded by Felipe Hecht and later his son Juan.In 1906, Juan Hecht turned over all his interests in the company to his friend and relative Constant Girard-Gallet, the owner of Girard-Perregaux & Cie.
