Unsigned, France, No. 12898, circa 1880. Fine eight day going hour and half hour-striking clock fitted in a painting. Gilt wood framed, oil on panel, featuring a Swiss Alpine village, mountains in the background, church with the clock on the tower and a river in the foreground. Black with Roman numerals, Gilt "Breguet" hands. Brass, square with going barrels for going, hours and quarters trains, verge escapement. Striking on gongs with count wheel on the pillar plate.Dim. 84 x 71 cm, including the frame.
