Patek, Philippe & Cie. , Genève, No. 137975, case No. 260354, made in 1907, sold to Henri Stern Agency in New York on July 18, 1949. Very fine and rare 18K gold keyless double-train trip minute-repeating watch. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Four-body, "bassine", polished, gold hinged cuvette. Silver matted, applied gold indexes, outer minute dot divisions, subsidiary sunk seconds with champlevé track. Gold "Dauphine" hands. Notes A very high quality watch, which was begun in 1907 and was finished and sold in 1949.The present watch was bought by Theodor Beyer in Hong Kong, at Antiquorum's May 1981 sale, as lot 162.Patek Philippe started making double-train trip repeaters around 1900 and continued their production, in very limited quantities, over the next 25 years. There are fewer than thirty of them known. The present watch comes from a small series of repeating watches, of which only one, this one, is known to be a trip repeater. All others are slide-operated and No. 138018 is also with an alarm.
