Movement attributable to Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 10160. Produced circa 1830. Fine, quarter-repeating, 18K gold watch. Four-body,“bassine”, case back engraved with a lake scene, with castle, bridge, a fisherman and two ladies strolling in a park, chased bezels, reeded band, gold engine-turned hinged cuvette. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Gold “Breguet” hands. 44 mm, frosted gilt, 15 jewels, lateral counterpoised lever escapement, uncut bimetallic balance, flat balance spring, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant.Cuvette numbered. Diam. 50 mm. Notes This type of movement was at the time produced mostly by Leschot at Vacheron Constantin and sold to various retai- lers who cased and sold them under their own name.
