German, circa 1570. Fine gilt bronze early hour-striking pendant clockwatch with stackfreed. Double-body, tambour-like, cushion band and slightly domed covers, the front with 12 openings for the hour numerals, center pierced and engraved with the Madonna and Child, back with the crucifixion, pierced and engraved band. Gilt brass, radial Roman numerals, with inner Arabic 24-hour ring (13-24) with German "Z" for numeral "2", center engraved with a rosette, outermost engraved with repeated pattern.
