Fine and very rare, center-seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with a stainless steel Rolex buckle. three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, graduated revolving black bezel for the decompression times. black with tritium-coated triangular, round and Bâton indexes. Tritium-coated "Skeleton" hands. Cal. 1520, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 40 mm. Notes A similar watch is mentioned in "Collecting Rolex Wristwatches", by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova 2001, p. 297. Reference 5510 is the rarest of all Submariner references. Antiquorum has not offered an example of this reference for sale in over a decade. In addition, the present watch is new-old stock.
