Three-body, polished, the back with winding and setting shutter. Four bun feet, silver chain handle. Silver, engine-turned, radial Roman numerals, outer minute dot divisions on a polished chapter ring, moon-phaseaperture at 6 o’clock, small subsidiary seconds below 12 o’clock, subsidiary days of the week and dateson engine-turned dial plate below the hour and minute chapters. Gold Breguet hands. Hump-back, 136 x 107brass plates with turned pillars, reversed fusee with chain and maintaining power, horizontal gilt platform withlateral calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring with termi-nalcurve.Signed on a small gold plaque fixed to the dial plate.Dim. 160 x 115 x 75 mm. Notes Silver hump-back carriage clocks were introduced by Breguet around 1813. Very few were made, and they are among the best clocks ever produced by Breguet. Among all Breguet carriage clocks his humpback model seems to be immortal. Its shape has continued to be used by the house of Breguet, as well as by others such as Cole and Jump in England.
