Gilt wood-framed oil painting featuring a harbor scene with animated sailboats, a steamship, in the fore-ground,two ladies listening to an animated mandolin player, in the clock tower an animated monk reading, ani-matedlighthouse, animated fisherman’s wife repairing a fishing net. White enamel, radial Roman numerals,outer minute divisions. Blued steel "spade" hands. Rectangular, brass, going barrels, anchor escapement,short pendulum, silk suspension. Automaton movement: rectangular, brass, going barrel, fly governor.Signed on dial and movement, painting signed and dated by the artist.Dim. 98 x 80 cm. Notes This is a clock painting with a rarely seen and very amusing and attractive variety of animations.
