So-called "Paul Newman" Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona, retailed by Cartier, Ref. 6265. Production of this reference started in 1971. Extremely fine and rare, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold gentleman’s wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers and tachometer with gold bezel graduated to 200 units per hour. Accompanied by an 18K yellow gold Rolex buckle. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back, crown and buttons, tachometer gradua-tionon the bezel. Bicolored beige and black with applied gold indexes, guilloché subsidiary sunk seconds, 12-hour and 30-minute register dials. Tritium-coated yellow gold "Bâton" hands. Notes Ref. 6265 Produced from 1961 to 1988; the first model with screwed-down buttons circa 1970. Manufactured in 18K and 14K yellow gold, steel and gold, stainless steel, with steel or black enameled bezel.
