Vaucher, A Paris, circa 1780. Very fine 20K gold and painted on ena-mel watch with matching châtelaine. Two-body, spring-loaded, "Lepine"type, back painted on enamel in grisaille with a lady at the altarof love, translucent light blue enamel over an engine-turnedground, bezels with applied gold "clous de Paris" simulating halfpearls. Châtelaine: single link, gold spoon, painted on enamelover gold depicting a cherub in a garden, champlevé enamelborders, gold chains for charms, seal, key and the watch. hite enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions,winding aperture at 2 o’clock. Gold "Breguet" hands. 30mm, frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee andchain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balancespring, continental cock.Signed on the movement, châtelaine punched "R" surmountedby a crown.Diam. 37 mm, length with châtelaine 180 mm. Notes Daniel Vaucher, (also Vauché, Vauchez) Became a Master in 1767. Recorded in Paris, in the rue St-Pierre aux Boeufs, 1769-90. He signed Vauchez à Paris.
