The Peacock Feathers Falquer à Paris, No. 64, with Paris hall-marks for 1783. Very fine 20K gold and painted on enamel, pearl-set, slim, quarter-repeating à toc watch with original matching châte-laine. Two-body, spring-loaded, "Lépine", back with gold paillonsforming a peacock feather pattern against translucent dark blueenamel over radial engine-turning, split pearl-set bezels. Châte-laine:single pearl-set link with three chains of gold, pearl, andenamel links terminating with safety hook for the watch, theother side with four short chains decorated en suite terminatingwith a seal, key and two tassels, no spoon. White enamel,radial Arabic numerals, outer minute dot divisions with fifteen-minuteArabic markers, winding aperture at 2 o’clock. Gold"beetle and poker" hands. 30 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-platewith cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapementbrass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock,repeating on two gold blocks fixed to the case by depressing thependant.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 39 mm. length with châtelaine 165 mm.
